Romanization
Sala IX
The hall with the Font de Mussa mosaic reflects the process of adoption of Roman culture in our land.
Romanization is a long and complex interaction process between the indigenous population and their Roman conquerors. Romanization spread, essentially, through cities and, in this sense, the following municipium and colonies played an important role in Valencian lands: Lesera, Saguntum, Edeta, Valentia, Saitabi, Dianium, Lucentum, Ilici and the one located in current Villajoyosa-. This room centers on the magnificent mosaic of "The Origins of Rome", from Font de Mussa (Benifaió).
