An enduring support for writing
Vitrina 107
Lead sheets were practical supports for writing because of its durability and malleability. They were engraved with fine punches and the sheets were kept rolled up. Texts usually cover up both sides, with different orientations. Some inscriptions were erased and modified by other overlapping ones, indicating that lead sheets were frequently reused.
