Minting by hammer

Minting with hammer appeared in the seventh century B.C. and lasted until the seventeenth century. Using this handmade technique billions of pieces were manufactured, thus becoming one of the most important techniques in history. The workshops included specialized personnel for metal preparation, engraving of stamps, coinage, surveillance, monitoring and control of production.
