The big Iberian settlements: La Bastida de les Alcusses

Sala III
Iberians were organized in cities governed by aristocratic groups that controlled politics and economy in the territory as well as long-distance trade.
One of the best examples of such cities is Bastida de les Alcusses. It is a walled settlement of the fourth century B.C., founded and abandoned in the course of three or four generations. Among the rich material culture discovered in this contestan city, are tool and working equipment, weapons, personal ornaments and tableware, both Iberian and imported. The most popular items are the bronze votive offerings representing an armed horseman and an ox yoke and plow.
