Bronze Age: cultural diversity

Sala IX
The second millennium B.C. shows an intense human occupation of Valencian lands, with small settlements located in high terrain. The Valencian Bronze Culture is characterized by the widening of metal tools, first, copper and then, bronze. Materials from the villages of Mas de Menente and Mola Alta de Serelles (Alcoy) belong to this culture. Excavations at these sites were conducted in the early decades of the twentieth century. Nowadays, more recent archaeological works have been carried out at the Lloma de Betxí (Paterna) or Muntanya Assolada (Alzira).
